A Thin, Dark Line - Emma Elliot Noooooooooo, pretty please, give me at least a paperback ;-;!
Crow Girl - Kate Cann Meep!
Not that what I hoped for. Giving up on that book, read in May 2012... Teenage story, bit too unbelievable main character behaviour change.

2 stars for the beautiful blue chrome cover with the shadows on it (simillar to Crow girl rises)...
on the "to sell pile with it"
Puella Magi Madoka Magica, Vol. 01 - Magica Quartet, Hanokage I don´t know what to make out of this manga. It´s definitely a darker urban kind of magical girl manga. I am pretty sure fans of shojo magical girl mangas (like Wedding Peach, Kamikaze kaito Jeanne or Petty Cure)will dislike this.

Being a Magical girl has a cruel high price in this manga. And the girls don´t only fight witches (which are black wart blobs in this manga and no human beings [insert the rant of a fangirl of the mystical fan corner here]), they fight each other too. And they don´t have the typical magical girl behaviour qualification in this story...

So what´s the point of the girl Madoka, who believes in goodness of people, being in a manga like this?
To get a reply to this question, I will continue reading the series, but only because of this...
Rutland Place (Inspector Pitt #5) - Anne Perry, Beate Felten Just when you think all Inspector Pitt novels are the same...

I liked seeing Charlotte´s mother in this book, as well as Monsieur Alaric. We all knew there was unfinished business with that guy since "Paragon walk" :) And yay for Emily standing ground.

The novel was well written. Anne Perry proved her knowlege of the Victorian society and her talent of illuminating secrets again.

The end totally shocked me. It had almost psycho thriller qualities and I can only feel sorry for Eloise, poor thing...

4 of 5 stars.

I really woundn´t mind having some character illustrations in the books sometimes....
Tudor Rose - Anne Perry At first I was very sceptical: a young adult book by one of my favourite murder mystery authors, very thin & very expensive, could that be any good?
I picked it up out of a whim, because I wanted to have a quick & light read. I got far more. Ok, it IS a quick read, a short novel if you want, but believe it or not:

This book has a very strong message!

Rosie is technically an outsider. She´s got brains, but she can´t read. She tries it, she wants it, but she can´t do it. She fakes stupidity so she can hang out with the stupid kids who make fun of subject stuff in school, because Rosie is too afraid to admit her problem.

And this is a very common problem in our global society, a problem we all need to be aware of.
This book is, it is devided in short chapters & large printed so that people who can´t read very well & young school people can understand it.
The teaching of historical facts is almost a side effect here :)

Well done, Anne Perry!
Augustus Moon and his amazing tea-time machine - J.M. Waldron I really wish this book has been written 16 years sooner, so I could have suggested it for reading in English class.

It contains everything a fantasy lover desires: An evil sorceror, missunderstood love, an evil curse, true love, a mythical legend, tea, bravery, trickery and a flying house in the shape of the tea pot. All wrapped up on 191 pages with an unbroken love for tea.

This was really an enjoyable story, I could read it over & over again without getting bored.
Good job, Mr. Waldron.
Bibliotheca Mystica 1 - Chako Abeno, Gakuto Mikumo, G-Yuusuke A very nice mixture of a Victorian gothic setting with urban fantasie elements we know from serieses like xxx holic or Hell girl. And in this case, the Hell girl is related to Read or Die´s Yomiko Readman :)

The sum up:
Huey is the heir of his dead uncle, a strange book collector, who kept a dark secret: he was the key keeper of Dantalian´s library, are place where books of evil are kept. It contains even books of real magic, which can capture the souls of man, forcing them to do violent & cruel things to the ones they love & adore. Most of those books are sealed in the library, but a part of them is spread all over the world. Huey´s task is to find the books and to bring them back to the library before the evil powers break free. He´s the new key keeper and together with the red-eyed goth girl Danlion, also known as the book princess, who posses magical powers, he travels around the world.

I hope you peeps will get an English version of this series soon.

Etwas von den Wurzelkindern - Sibylle von Olfers I found this book in a little tea shop & loved it. It´s one of the rare books where you can feel that the author crafted it withlove and care.
Garden Dreams - Fumi Yoshinaga More love story/ shonen-ai than yaoi. A nice story in over-sized format.
Truly Kindly - Fumi Yoshinaga A collection of yaoi short stories.
Antique Bakery - Fumi Yoshinaga Adult is in this case less for the shonen-ai/ yaoi content. It´s more because of the mature themes.
Die Waffen der Frauen (Lustiges Taschenbuch Enten-Edition, #29) - Walt Disney Company 13 Geschichten aus vergangenen Lustigen Taschenbüchern, die sich um die Damen Gitta Gans, Daisy Duck und Gundel Gaukeley drehen.
Nero Corleone: Eine Katzengeschichte - 'Elke Heidenreich', 'Quint Buchholz' A little comfortable book about a young Italian cat and its big travel to Cologne.
Fairy Bergamot's New House (Fairy Teatime Tales, #1) - Amber McCarroll, Pamela Harden A really lovely story book for children.
Der immerwährende Kalender der Mondkraft - Sabine Heideweg A practical book for dealing with the moon & its influences. Your work materials for prognostication is available till the year 2020.
